MDG 2006
Description: The Pakistan Millennium Development Goals Report 2006 evaluates the progress on selected MDG indicators in Pakistan. This report evaluates aggregate progress in poverty alleviation over five years based on consumption and non-consumption based poverty and income inequality indicators. At the sub-national level, the report analyses progress made in 98 districts of Pakistan during 1998-2005, for selected seven indicators under Goal 2, 3, 4 and 7. The report also contains information on the pro-poor expenditure priorities of the Government.

The report presents the current status, outlines the challenges, and lays out the road map towards attaining the MDGs. It seeks to raise public awareness about the MDGs, renew political commitment to poverty reduction, and focus attention on specific development issues and concrete actions.
