Provincial Disaster Risk Management Plan for Sind launched Karachi, 12th August 2009: The Provincial Disaster Risk Management for Sind was launched today by the Minister for Revenue and Relief Sindh, Mr. Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar. Regional moot on Earthquake Risk Reduction

Islamabad 28 – 29, 2009:  A Regional workshop on ‘Structural and Non-Structural solutions for Earthquake Risk Reduction: Current practices, lessons and recommendations in the context of South Asia’ is being held from 28-29th April 2009. The workshop is organized by the United Nations Development Programme-Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery (UNDP-BCPR) and National Disaster Management authority (NDMA) with financial support of the Government of Japan.

Women leaders in NWFP to be trained in local governance and leadership

Islamabad 22nd April 2009: UNDP in partnership with P&D Division, Government of Pakistan and P&D Department has launched training for the potential women leaders and activists with an aim to motivate them for participation in the upcoming LG Elections for the seats of Nazima, Naib Nazima and councilor. The elections would be likely held between September and November this year.
