Objectives NATCAP originally had three main components: Strengthening EAD’s coordination capacity in responding promptly to emerging national developments as they relate to UN System global agenda and capacity cum comparative advantage. Substantive capacity building of EAD and enhanced exposure of the line ministries, provincial departments and civil society to programme development, implementation and monitoring through workshops. Development of systems and procedures for decentralized programme implementation in consonance with corporate NEX Guidelines. A fourth component has been added to NATCAP to provide catalytic support to, and reinforce innovative governance initiatives of the public, private and civil society organizations. This marks the merger of the PARADIGM project with NATCAP. Key Achievements 13 officers and 36 officials of EAD have been trained in Management and IT related skills. Study on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) published. One-year technical and financial assistance to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, to encourage good corporate governance practices and establish a sound regulatory framework for the corporate sector in Pakistan. Two-year technical and financial assistance to the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) in Karachi, to strengthen its data management capabilities, development of a Crime Management and Spatial Analysis System. The CPLC also operationalized a Call Response Center and a web site, providing an alternative window for citizens to register FIRs and claims. Lahore based NGOs Directory has been completed by LANGOS. Scoping study on Integrity Support Systems and Responsiveness Efforts in Pakistan completed and the report is being circulated. More than 90 officials of EAD have been trained in programme management and IT related areas |
